Submit a Proposal

Welcome to the International Conference on Education, Religion and Ethics in a Post-Pandemic World (ICERE 2024). This is a special, three-day, international and interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed special event. The hybrid format of ICERE 2024 welcomes participants to attend either in-person in Nagoya, Japan or online from September 27-29, 2024 at the Aichi Industrial & Labor Center (WINC Aichi).

With the theme of Uncharted Waters, ICERE 2024 welcomes proposals of 300 words in English that consider unique perspectives on education, religion and ethics in a post-pandemic world.

ICERE 2024 Submission Form

Submission Policies

  1. Abstracts must be less than 300 words in English and sent via the online system.
  2. Submissions should include a university or institution personal email address.
  3. The lingua franca of submissions, papers and presentations is English.
  4. Only authors listed on the submission may give the presentation.
  5. A maximum of (2) submissions is permitted per author.
  6. Abstracts derived from plagiarized or copyrighted research will be rejected.
  7. The review committee does not correct grammar, spelling or usage errors.
  8. We encourage work that introduces new ideas and conceptualizations, research and understandings to the field, as well as analysis of both success and failure.

Peer Review

All submissions are graded using a double blind, peer review process. The abstract is scored using a rubric that assessed areas such as originality, clarity/organization, spelling/grammar and suitability for the event.

Presentation Formats

Oral Presentation

Oral presenters are generally arranged in parallel sessions consisting of 2 to 5 or more presenters depending on the panel theme and length. Panelists are allotted 20 to 25 minutes of presentation time depending on the number of presenters. Computers, projectors and screens will be provided in each presentation room.

Please note that the number of oral presentation slots is limited. The organizers will assign and schedule oral presenters only after a submission has passed the peer-review process and registration has been confirmed. In the event that oral presentation slots are no longer available, late applicants should opt for poster or virtual presentation.

Poster and Virtual Presentations

Poster presenters must create a poster that is at least size A0 (A Zero). Common dimensions for posters are A0 47 x 33 inches (118cm x 84cm). No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations. Poster boards mounted on stands will be provided with tape and pins.

 

Virtual presenters may choose to do a live presentation via Zoom or prerecorded presentation. Typically, a virtual presentation is limited to 10 minutes of presentation time. Live presenters will receive a few extra minutes of Q&A. For those submitting prerecorded presentations, we will be happy to forward questions to you. 

 

  • Instructions on creating and delivering a virtual presentation will be sent by the Secretariat
  • Virtual presenter data files must be sent to ICERE 2024 Secretariat no later than Friday, September 20, 2024
  • The hybrid (virtual) portion of ICERE will be on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 18:00 JST and also on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM JST.
  • Virtual presenters and audience that have paid the registration fee will receive and official certificate sent by email with a PDF attached at the conclusion of ICERE 2024.

Organizing Your Own Panel

If you would like to organize your own panel of presenters, please contact the Secretariat. Panel requests must be received at least two weeks before the submission deadline. The panel should have at least 3 to 5 members (including the leader) and the names of all the panel members must appear in the abstract proposal.

Proceedings

Please note that only the abstracts undergo a peer-review and that full papers are not peer-reviewed. The proceedings are not peer-reviewed, only the abstract review for participation in this event. The proceedings will be available shortly after the conclusion of the event.

Full Papers & Template

Full Papers are not peer-reviewed nor required; however, if you would like to submit a paper it must be less than 2500 words and sent in Word format (PDF is not accepted) with a maximum file size of 1.5 MB by the deadline. Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation is the responsibility of the author. Use of the Full Paper Template is absolutely required. Papers submitted differently will not be accepted.
