Overview

INTESDA, The International Education for Sustainable Development Alliance, is a diverse community of educators, academics and nonprofit professionals founded in 2015, in part, to support the Sustainable Development Global Goals set by the United Nations. We are committed to addressing sustainable development issues through capacity building, advocacy, networking and sharing knowledge.

Our events, special projects and forthcoming journals all help support and facilitate raising awareness of sustainable development and the Global Goals.

Motto

INTESDA strongly supports the UN call upon the global community to work together in a unified effort to achieve the Global Goals by the year 2030. Thus, our motto is Unity in Community.

Incorporation

In 2010, the founder, Takayuki Yamada established a not-for-profit general incorporated association focusing on education for sustainable development in the Pacific Rim. In 2015, the association mission was expanded to be more international and INTESDA was registered as a limited liability company to underwrite the activities of the organization. The activities of our organization include publishing, seminar and event management, media and advertising.

INTESDA has been officially registered under the laws of Japan and reports all of its financial activity to a certified public accountant.

Mission Statement

INTESDA advances education for sustainable development through capacity building, advocacy and providing a channel for raising awareness and sharing knowledge.

Vision Statement

We aspire to be leaders in the vanguard of sustainable development.
