About Kyoto
ICELL2026 will be held in Kyoto, Japan, which has served as Japan’s imperial capital and cultural heart for over 1,000 years, from 794 until 1868. Kyoto has always been Japan’s center of power, religion, and art. Despite surviving wars and fires, it was spared major destruction during World War II, preserving countless temples and shrines. Kyoto is a treasure trove of historical sites boasting more than a dozen World Cultural Heritage sites. They include an elaborate castle that attests to the power of the shoguns, and historic shrines and temples that are home to countless precious works of art. Many other sites are National Treasures or Important Cultural Properties.
With so much to see and do in Kyoto, traveling around the city can be exhausting. Fortunately, apart from temples and historical sites, Kyoto renowned for its unique blend of refined cuisines and specialty eateries for sushi, tempura, soba, ramen and bakeries. If you’re not hungry, you can easily find a multitude of quaint cafes and tea shops to rest your feet, soothe your senses and rejuvenate your spirit before continuing your exploration of this wondrous city.

About Kyoto Research Park
With support from the Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, and local industry, Kyoto Research Park (KRP) was born as the first private operated Research Park in Japan. Since its opening 1989, KRP has now grown to host over 510 tenant companies and institutions in the field of ICT, Biotech, Electronics, Machinery, and etc. It aims to be the base for new business creation and the base for collaboration between industry, academia and government in the Kyoto region.
KRP’s aim is to become the innovation hub of the region. KRP believes that by gathering and networking the regional companies, researchers and ideas, new innovation will be created. Through this process, KRP aims to contribute to regional development.

Kyoto Bento Lunch
During the main conference day on Thursday, October 29, 2026, all registered participants will receive a unique Kyoto bento box lunch. This special box lunch includes Kyoto cuisine made with locally produced foods, including meat, fish, rice and an assortment of fresh vegetables. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
