Submit a Proposal

HAHC2027 will promote a critical understanding of the innovate and organic approaches from the arts and humanities towards the post-pandemic and uncertain future in which we now exist. This conference is committed to the cross-cultural exploration of the post-pandemic world. HAHC2027 encourages fresh ideas, opinions and discussions amongst teachers, academics, scholars, researchers, students and others who desire social change, solutions to crises, and the search for knowledge.

With the theme of Arts, Humanities and Social Change, HAHC2027 welcomes proposals of 300 words in English that consider unique perspectives in the arts and humanities. The advance deadline for proposals is Friday, November 20, 2026.

We welcome the following types of submissions:

  • Research Papers – Completed research papers on any topic relating to the arts and humanities.
  • Student Papers – Completed papers or case studies on any topic relating to the arts and humanities.
  • Case Studies/Reports – Case studies or reports on any topic relating to the arts and humanities.
  • Discussion Papers – Research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas.

HAHC2027 Call for Proposals

Submission Policies

  1. Abstracts should be between 50 to 300 words in English and sent via our online submission system.
  2. Submissions should include a university or institution personal email address.
  3. The lingua franca of submissions, papers and presentations is English.
  4. Only authors listed on the submission may give the presentation.
  5. Abstracts derived from plagiarized or copyrighted research will be rejected.
  6. The review committee does not correct grammar, spelling or usage errors.
  7. We encourage work that introduces new ideas and conceptualizations, research and understandings to the field, as well as analysis of both success and failure.
  8. You may submit up to three abstracts.
  9. Presenter registration only covers the first presentation.
  10. Additional oral or poster presentations (not virtual) can be registered at a discount rate. 

Peer Review

All submissions are graded using a double blind, peer review process. The abstract is scored using a rubric that assessed areas such as originality, clarity/organization, spelling/grammar and suitability for the event. Depending on the volume of submissions received at any given time, it may take several weeks to complete a review and send a decision.

* Please note that all submissions should be sent from a university or institution registered email address. Submission and registration accounts cannot be created using personal email accounts (i.e. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). 

Presentation Formats

Oral Presentation

Oral presenters are generally arranged in parallel sessions consisting of several presenters depending on the panel theme and length. Panelists are allotted 20 minutes of presentation time depending on the number of presenters, followed by time for Q&A. Computers, projectors and screens will be provided in each presentation room. Please note that the Program Committee assigns presenters to panels and time slots.

Poster Presentation

Posters must be size A0 (A Zero). Common dimensions for posters are A0 47 x 33 inches (118cm x 84cm). No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations. Poster presenters are responsible for printing and preparing the poster in advance of the conference. The organizers cannot and will not print posters for presenters.

Virtual Presentation

Participants with accepted proposals who are unable to attend due to travel problems, a schedule conflict, illness, etc., are welcome to give a virtual presentation. Virtual sessions are included in the conference regular schedule, and accessible to all participants.

Guidelines, instructions and an invitation link to the virtual session will be sent by the organizing committee upon confirmation of registration. Virtual presenters will receive a PDF certificate of presentation, as well as inclusion in the proceedings as a virtual presenter.

HAHC2027 offer two options for virtual presentations:

The first option is to deliver a 10-minute prerecorded presentation by sending us your slideshow with a voice-over narration. Our moderator will play your presentation on your behalf and share questions and comments from participants. The deadline for sending your prerecorded file is February 26, 2027.

The second option is to join the live virtual session via Zoom on Friday, March 12, 2027 at 09:00 to 11:30 AM (Hawaii Standard Time). For the live session, please prepare a 10-minute presentation. Following your presentation, we will offer 5 minutes for Q&A.

Organizing Your Own Panel

If you would like to organize your own panel of presenters, please contact the Secretariat. Panel requests must be received at least two weeks before the submission deadline. The panel should have at least 3 to 5 members (including the leader) and the names of all the panel members must appear in the abstract proposal.

AV Equipment

At the Airport Honolulu Honolulu Conference Center, function rooms are equipped with the following furnishings and audio visual equipment: podium with a microphone; panelist table with chairs; large film screen and an LCD projector situated on an AV cart with cables, extension cord and an electrical outlet. 

NOTE: Oral presenters are expected to bring and use their own computer with a power adapter/cord, and any dongles or display adapters that you require (such as USB-C to HDMI or VGA). It is also advised that oral presenters bring a USB flash drive with their presentation already uploaded to it.

Details regarding the type of AV equipment shall be included in the preliminary HEC2027 Schedule, which will be released on January 10 2027.

Publications

Proceedings

Please note that only the abstracts undergo a peer-review and that full papers are not peer-reviewed. The Proceedings will be available approximately four to eight weeks after the conclusion of the conference, so as to give participants ample time to make corrections to their work.

Full Papers & Template

Full papers are not required; however, if you would like to submit a full paper, please note these guidelines:

  1. Full papers must be less than 2500 words including in-text citations. 
  2. Full papers must have a maximum file size of 1.5MB and sent in Word format (PDF is not accepted)
  3. A bibliography of sources is absolutely required. It is not included in the word limit.
  4. Any diagrams, figures, charts or illustrations must be properly inserted by the author.
  5. Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation is the responsibility of the author.
  6. Corresponding authors may only include an institution email address (no private addresses).
  7. Use of the Full Paper Template is absolutely required. 

Full papers submitted differently from guidelines above will be rejected. Full papers should be sent to the HEC2027 Secretariat by April 23, 2027. Click below to download the template:
